Dr. Carmen Galán, Full Professor of Botany in the University of Córdoba; Past-President of the International Association for Aerobiology (IAA). Actually she is Coordinator of the Spanish Aerobiology Network (REA), Coordinator of the Working Group on Quality Control in the frame of the European Aerobiology Society (EAS) and Co-Chair of World Allergy Organization (WAO) Aeroallergen Committee. Alsois Responsible of the Doctorate Program, Natural Resources and Sustainability. Up to the moment she has directed 12 PhDs. Is also member of the Expert Panel on Climate Change/Andalusia Forum on Climate Change and as well member of the Health and Climate Change working group from the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs of the Spanish Government. Her research interest is focused on Basic and Applied Aerobiology and Plant Phenology. Carmen Galán is Editor in Chief of Aerobiologia, International Journal of Aerobiology, Ed Springer (Netherlands), and has been involved in differ researching projects, at national and international level, i.e. EU FPs, COST Actions or GEOSS.

La Dra. Galán es profesora de tiempo completo en la Universidad de Córdoba. Actualmente es Coordinadora de la Red Española de Aerobiología, Coordinadora del Grupo de trabajo en Control de Calidad en la Sociedad Europea de Aerobiología, entre otras sociedades y asociaciones de prestigio científico. Ha estado involucrada en diversos proyectos de investigación a nivel nacional e internacional como con la Cooperación Europea en Ciencia y Tecnología, o el Global Earth Observation System.
